Little Known Facts About The Game Of Roulette
Most people think that they know roulette and most of them would be mostly right, however there are so many things that people do not know about the wonderful game of roulette.
Most people know the name roulette but most people do not know the name Blaise Pascal, this French mathematician made the first and most primitive version of roulette by complete accident.
If you were to take a look at roulette in its early day you would find that it was seldom played at all, although it was wildly popular it was a game that only Europe’s rich could afford. Most people do not realize that the roulette tables they play on today were once not around, roulette tables with only one zero did not exist until 1843 which is when they were introduced in a small German town Homburg. The reason for the single zero table’s development was simply to steal business from other casinos, if all the casinos had tables with two zeroes but one casino had a table with one zero all the players would play at the single zero tables.
In fact to this very day casinos in Europe still use the single zero wheels. American casinos still predominantly carry tables with two zeroes even though the change occurred in Europe it never took hold in America the same way. In the 1990’s more innovations were made when it came to roulette wheels, however these changes were made to make the wheels more random and to prevent any errors that would result in biases.
More than a few times gamblers would study specific roulette wheels for the purpose of extracting data hoping to find wheels with defects and biases, when biases would be found the gamblers would then do everything to exploit the error. Whenever biases have been found large amounts of money would be lost by the casinos, even as recent as 1982 when American gamblers destroyed British casinos by exploiting biases in their wheels.
