Why And How To Use Promotional Products
Every company wants the same thing; to be a household name in their market or industry. Promotional products can do this for you. It’s not enough any longer to rely simply on adveriting. What’s really key is getting your name and brand in front of customers as often as possible.
How To Use Them
These products come in many different forms. Almost any product can be sold as a promotional item if you think about it. T-shirts, golf balls, pens, notepads, calendars… the list is endless. Each promotional product you give away will have your brand printed on it. Every time that customer uses that item, they will think about you and/or your company.
Most commonly, promotional products are given away on customer visitations. One idea would be to give a small promotional item when you present your business card. Another idea for bigger or more important customers would be to think ahead and get something personalised such as a pen set with their initials engraved on it. Something that says “thank you” and brands the product.
Another way to send out your promotional product would be to send it with a ‘thank you for your business’ letter. Think a little wider and you could promote your brand to an entire team. A nice gesture might be to create notepads with the names of each member of a sales team that send you business. Anything that will be used many times over and has your company written all over it.
When to use promotional products.
The absolute best time to give away a product is when you first meet the customer. For the ultimate branding effect, put your brandname in as many places as is possible. If you’re visiting a sales team’s office, why not hand them out a business card and a pen when you meet them? Next time they use that item, they’ll think about your company again.
Alternatively, you could hand promotional products to suppliers when they come to see you. Clients who have good relationships with their suppliers are often much better placed to negotiate discounts.
Why should anyone use promotional products?
The benefits are enormous; giving customers your promotional products helps them associate your business with that particular product line. A token of appreciation shown to a supplier could pay dividends further down the line.
Either way, the benefit is easy to see and the entire idea is centered on advertising, branding and recognition. Aside from the obvious reasons, using promotional products to brand your company is just good advertising. Those folks that use your products and do business with you will tell their colleagues about you.
