All Time Low Rises Higher Everyday

In the music industry, the All Time Low discography from the American pop punk band of the same name is considered relatively young in more ways than one. The band was only formed in 2003 in Baltimore, Maryland. Also, its members are relatively young musicians in their early 20s, with front man Alexander Gaskarth just 23 years old as of this writing.

Age however doesn’t seem to be an indication of how successful a group can become. Despite being young, the group is on the road to greater achievements. Current members include Rian Dawson on drums, Jack Bakarat on rhythm guitar and backup vocals, Zachary Merrick on bass guitar and Alexander Gaskarth on lead guitar and lead vocals.

Band Story

The reason why the members of All Time Low are quite young is because they did start as a high school band. They performed songs by popular groups like Green Day and Blink 182. It was however, the band New Found Glory that eventually became their greatest influence. The song “Head On Collision” is where the young group’s name is taken from.

In time, the group moved on from being a cover band to become one of the rising stars in the genre. At present, the All Time Low music merch consists of 3 studio albums, 2 extended plays and 8 singles with one DVD to be released on the 25th of May 2010.

Studio Albums Released

The group was able to ink its first deal with Emerald Records shortly after being formed. With their first label, the group came out with their EP “The Three Words to Remember in Dealing with the End.” Things were moving smoothly for the group in 2005 when they released their All Time Low album “The Party Scene.”

The next year, however, the group signed on to Hopeless Records. This was before the band members even graduated from high school, which gives an idea of just how talented the new kids on the block were in terms of their music. The first result of this new record deal was the re-recording of songs from the debut album with the addition of 2 new materials for the EP release, the latter of which entered the Top Heatseekers and Independent Albums charts. One might say that this was the start of All Time Low’s ride to an all-time high in the business of music.

In 2007, the band released “So Wrong, It’s Right”. This was the album that paved the way for mainstream exposure, with the accolade of 2008 Band of the Year awarded by the Alternative Press Magazine to prove it.

One other proof that the group is indeed on the right track is its work with Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 fame. The veteran pop punk artist pitched in for the third All Time Low album, “Nothing Personal”. This came out under Hopeless Records in 2009. Interscope Records will release the band’s fourth album.

The band’s name is very deceptive in that it is at the cusp of an all-time high. We are eagerly anticipating more pop punk material from All Time Low as it continues to mature both in terms of its music and its members.
