When You Are Required To Come Up With Articles Every Day, Where Do You Get Your Inspiration
Some jobs require editorials to be written every day around certain subjects. In the early days it can be effortless to write your first few editorials, but how do you keep thinking up new ways to include this area without continually repeating yourself?
Journalists come up against this when they need to write editorials around a current issue which has been in the public eye for some time. If the issue is still current, then stories are essential, but there may not be an obvious new angle to the article.
Journalism is not the only role where it is necessary to write editorials. There are some Online Jobs which also need editorials to be written, perhaps for blogs. Again, these might revolve around a particular area which needs to be kept in the public’s mind, but which may not have a clear new angle. Being able to think outside of the box is crucial.
Listen when people speak to you, often there will be a viewpoint you can use for an editorial which you had not thought about before. Keep your eyes open – sometimes stories can come from the most unusual places. Wherever you are, be sure there is pen and paper nearby to make quick notes for any ideas which come to you. Afterwards, it may be hard to remember exactly what the storyline you had in mind at the time was.
If you are working for an Internet Business, it in all likelihood also entails you Work From Home, which could mean you are not regularly coming into contact with others so try and write about things you know. Write from your own experiences. Often one or two articles can be created around a similar subject by merely reading your story and thinking of questions you would like to have answered which are not covered in this story. Could they be dealt with in a story of their own.
The Online Jobs which deal with the writing of blogs are no doubt only short editorials so it should be possible to write a few articles around onetopic. For an Internet Business, there are many blogs around and news articles specifically targeted to one area, so there is the option to read these and then write your own reports based around any new information you have collected. Beware plagiarism! Read the article, make notes, then write your own story totally independently of the original. That way you are positive that you use your own words and thoughts.
If you do need to refer to work from others, make certain you acknowledge their work in your own. Do not try and pass it off as something you have written yourself. If you have a good idea, but do not think you know enough about it to write an article, do some research. You have found it an interesting subject so others may do so too.
Just because you may Work From Home, do not limit yourself when you are looking for ideas. Be prepared to go out and talk to people, this is a fundamental part of your work and you are not being irresponsible in your duties to leave the house, in fact it is a good way to keep your stories alive and interesting.
