However, to be a good dribbler, ensure that the kids are expert at using the inside and outside of both feet. Kids must also be taught to apply both sides of their feet similar to a hockey stick.

Make certain that in soccer drills for kids, they lay their hands on the ball every time they move forward. The ball is tapped keeping it in front while dribbling it. This has an advantage for the kids to maintain control of the ball and increase the pace of dribbling.

The kids will therefore be able to escape the defending team as soon as they approach the ball to catch it. So initiate step by step and make it certain that kids are increasingly feeling associated with the ball in each step.

Instruct kids in youth soccer drills to keep altering the speed. In order to overpower the opponents, the kids need not be extremely fast in dribbling the ball. Rather, put the defender to sleep for a moment and then break past the rival with great speed.

Train the kids on remaining alert with respect to the ball while in the field. Kids must keep an eye on the playing field and concentrate on the ball while dribbling.

Help them improve upon their weak foot. Include in the soccer drills for youth, the activity of striking the ball against a wall by using the weak foot in order to improve it bit by bit. Guide the kids to play with the soccer ball when they get time. The kids should be taught to be seated and use the ball to move it back and forth with the weaker foot. Every time they do it, their capacity to maintain ball’s control will increase.

So, there you have it! In kids soccer drills, they should be taught to guard the ball with their body. When in close contact with the defender, make use of the body to shield the ball.
