Choose the Right Class

Maniac

In Mafia Wars, energy is more valuable than money and the Maniac is able to regenerate energy faster than any other class. This can help you complete more jobs and thus level up faster than many other players. After all, energy allows you to complete jobs. Money can only buy equipment and properties for your portfolio, but with no energy to get jobs done, you’ll find it harder to level up fast.

The game creators, Zynga, tend to favor this class as it requires players to log in more frequently to get the most benefit out of playing a Maniac.

Mogul

A Mogul character class should generate money faster than some other classes. This means you can afford to grow your own mafia much faster. You can also purchase the best weapons, armor and cars for them, as well as buying properties and business much faster.

This can be the ideal class for players who know they can grow their mafia up to 501 members fast. As you don’t have the benefit of regenerating energy as quickly as a Maniac, collect energy packs for later use. You’ll need them.

Fearless

If you choose to play Fearless class, you’ll be able to recover your health much faster than other players. While this is generally thought to be a useless attribute, there is one top mafia position that only a Fearless player can qualify for: the Wheelman.

If you can reach the status of Wheelman, you have the opportunity to perform jobs with no energy cost. This could be a massive bonus if you need to carry out jobs that require high energy.

This is somehow the opposite of the Maniac type, slow to level up at first, but can have the potential to acquire huge bonuses later in the game.

Managing your Mafia and Armaments

When it comes to managing your mafia, remember not to take any more than you can handle comfortably. Don’t keep adding new mafia members if you can’t afford to arm them with great weapons or equipment.

Performing Jobs

In order to keep moving through the levels, you’ll need to gain experience. Choose jobs with a high experience-to-energy ratio. There are times when you’ll need to build up your cash reserves, so choose jobs that yield the most money per amount of energy spent.

When there are loot celebration bonuses such as the Labor Day Loot, try to perform jobs that require less energy to give you an increased chance of getting the loot items.

Attacking

When attacking, choose players who have slightly less mafia than you currently have, unless you want to earn the Napoleon Complex Achievement. Attacking players with lesser mafia is almost a sure win.

Moreover, bookmark those players who yield more cash, so you could always get back to them when you need more money.

Defending

Growing and equipping your mafia with the best weapons remains the soundest method of defending against attackers. If a player attacks you, ask your mafia to attack them. There is also an option to add them to the hit list, but it’s not advisable to be in such exposure unless your level is high enough.

Remember to always bank your money. Attackers who know you yield great money after each attack will keep coming back to see if they can get more.
