I wasn’t sure a game which involved just picking and playing tiles on your turn and then claiming certain areas of the gameboard would be for me. I was even more nervous that my wife would not like it because she prefers games that are light without many complicated rules and this one sounded complicated to us. After playing the game we found out we couldn’t have been more wrong. The game is easy to learn and is actually a lot of fun for groups of two to five players.
The fundamentals of the sport are just that … BASIC. You begin the sport with everyone the tiles turned completed except for the starting tile. Each player has eight meeples (which are little figurines) and use one on the scoring slab and the other 7 to claim areas of the sport slab as it is constructed. On your turn the measures are unproblematic. You make a tile, location it on the playing zone so at least one of it’s walls is flush with another parts side and that it meets certain placement guidelines (more on these below). After setting the tile you can choose to play one of your meeples on a route, castle, farm, or cloister on the part you just played. You are not involved to play a meeple on your turn though. After that any completed tile has are scored and the meeples from those has are returned to the owner.
