Three Participants In A Local Art Show That Have Very Different Talents
The possibility of being a part of the local art show was positively exciting to one participant. She had long been making her one-of-a-kind jewelry and had a following that was loyal and totally committed to purchasing jewelry from her. She had decided to submit a sample of her work due to the fact that a client had persuaded her that this event would introduce her to a whole new audience that would be likely to frequent her tiny little shop on Second Street whenever they happened to need a gift for someone or a new piece of jewelry for themselves. She was not very knowledgeable regarding art shows but knew that any venue that would feature her creations could lead to a profitable outcome and one that was sure to help her sell more of her jewelry. In preparation for the coming event she decided to investigate the other vendors that would be participating and came up with several that she recognized and had even purchased from herself. She was especially intrigued by neighboring tables and was pleasantly surprised to see that her neighbors would be complimentary to her offerings without being in competition with her.
One of the participants had a long running reputation and penchant for pen and ink drawings that often were the houses residents had grown up in as children and had moved away from in adulthood. She was capable of working from snapshots of the house and could draw in any season to the landscape thus making the picture a favorite childhood memory for the person requesting it. She was also willing to pay a visit to the neighborhood as it now existed to get a fresh and up-to-date view of the structure and to draw a more realistic picture of it using of course the artistic details that had existed at the time the snapshot was taken so the memories of the client would be accurate in the finished product. Her pen and ink drawings were very popular in the small town where she lived and often parents would have her do a picture of the home where they raised their children and then request one for each of their adult children as well. She had a nice little business and was constantly delighted to see how happy her clients were when they got the first look at the finished picture and recaptured many happy memories.
The lady sitting at the next station was truly interesting also. It seemed she had never had that much interest in artwork until she took a watercolor class through the local community college and discovered to her surprise that she had a true talent for mixing colors and creating lovely designs. After that, she could not spend enough time in the day enjoying her new found love of painting and therefore had ended up with many pieces that she could give away. In addition to that, however, she found herself with dozens of pictures that she had no use for that she could definitely put up for sale so she proceeded to fill out an application to be considered as a possible vendor for the coming display of artistic talent.
So, these are just three examples of very different artistic backgrounds that enjoy showing off their skills in a neighborhood display that utilizes local talent.
