Even going to the lengths that some browsers might think there was a problem with the Web site.

“Store blackout days — Once a year, mid-year, during the worst sales month the team runs a ‘black out’ promotion for 24 hours. During that time only house list members who click from an email promotion can get into the store where they’ll see a variety of special discounts and giveaway offers.”

Email Delivery, or Server, Speed Free the Domains E-mail Marketing
A recent article in Clickz by Al DiGuido was very well written explaining a major problem in the email industry. He covered the speed of delivery, but missed one critical component. The speed of “sending” is not always the speed of “delivery.” In fact, very fast sending will likely lead to reduced delivery and delivery speeds.

Key Quotes From the Article:
- “Several retailers that send millions of messages at a time say their mailings move at 10,000 to 30,000 messages per hour.”
- “…outsourced providers claim ISPs can’t handle the increased mail… …message complexity and personalization mean slow delivery can’t be helped.”
- “retailers sending relatively small campaigns (1 million messages) at 8 a.m. finish over 12 hours later.”
- “The consequences of a Fortune 2000 company picking such an e-mail provider can be catastrophic.”
- ”Know your e-mail delivery rate per hour — and your provider’s speed limit.”

All true, but the last statement about knowing the delivery rate per hour misses a few very critical details. Knowing the email delivery rate is great, but what is the email server doing while producing that rate? Is it meticulous enough to communicate very carefully, limiting simultaneous connections, bounce retries, and the like to YAHOO, HotMail or Gmail in order to protect your reputation as a valid sender of email? Sending a million message in an hour is great, but if half are headed towards YAHOO and the system tries to send thousands at a time to YAHOO, then few, if any, will arrive. Thus, fast sending, does not become fast delivery. In fact the opposite is more likely true.

Through PRWeb.com you submit news releases that have your desired key-phrase in the title to gain a key-phrase advantage. Choose the phrase carefully. As we already said a bid of $300 to $500 minimum is recommended, but don’t bid the whole $500 too far in advance. This gives other bidders a glimpse of what you are able, or willing, to do for a top three ranking. Top three will help ensure a better Google rankings and ensures more exposure through the PRWeb network, thus bringing more foot traffic and search engine rankings. Bid $80 two days in advance of the news release date, then add to the contribution the evening prior to the release. If you are a small business entrepreneur, this gives you the ability to beat the nine to fivers. This is a fact that I am sure has not escaped most of the entrepreneurs reading this article.

You can achieve a better ranking for less money on the weekend. I try to run them on Sunday. This gives two advantages. The first is that most regular employees are not as productive late on Friday evening, if at all, even during the work-day. Plus, even though it begins to run on Sunday, it is still distributed throughout the week. The last advantage is that when you post your last bid on Friday evening you can be relatively confident that you will not be overbid through the weekend. Holidays are also good for entrepreneurs to gain a leg up on the nine to five competitors.

When your release is submitted, go back log in and add industries by holding the ‘Control’ (ctrl) key and clicking on ten industries to increase distribution. If your release did not get a three out of five ranking, resubmit it. For a release scheduled to run on Sunday you can change it until late in the evening Saturday. Watch it carefully on Friday.

There is an input field in the PRWeb system where you enter desired key-phrases into the system while submitting your release. Choose as many key-phrase variations as possible to place into the PRWeb system.
