The Revival of Chapbook Poetry Publishers
It was during the early 17th century that chapbooks quickly rose to popularity primarily among the lower classes of society. They contained bits of low quality poetry riddled with spelling and typographical errors, which is why the upper classes at the time generally frowned upon these tiny literary compilations. Today, chapbook poetry publishers are presenting these handy little pamphlets in a completely new light. Far from being the disgraceful publications they once were, chapbooks today are very useful tools used to promote the works of a relatively unknown poet or author. In a way, they are very inexpensive stepping stones that an aspiring writer can use to achieve the fulfillment of his literary ambitions.
