How To Make Real Money With Article Marketing

Anyone working online should know how to make money with article marketing. It is one of the simplest and most effective of all internet marketing methods. The basic format is simple: write an article related to your niche, add a link to your site and submit to directories.

But there are a few basic things that you must do if you want to actually bring in the dollars with your article. If you do not think about these points before you start, you could be wasting all of your precious time. And time is money, right?

First, you need to think about why you are writing the article. In fact, you should have two clear reasons why your article has come into existence. The first is the overt reason, the information that you are giving the reader. The second is your make-money motivation, which should not be too obvious.

Maybe from your point of view, your only reason for writing an article is to be making money online. But if you do not appear to have any motivation that helps or informs the reader, they will be turned right off. The benefit to the reader must be very clear, and your make-money motives should be well hidden.

Instead, remember that you are writing the article to inform the reader. Yes, let’s say it again – to give useful information to the reader.

While you do not want to give away too much information, you should have at least one clear and useful point to make in your article. Preferably this will be something that most readers will not have heard or thought about before. This way they will feel that the time they spent reading your article has been worthwhile, and they are very likely to click through to your website for more.

Remember that there are people who write articles and run websites simply for the love of it, without making a cent from them. Those people usually have strong feelings about their subject, whether it be their religion, their pets, a food fad, or whatever. Imagine you were someone like that and you just wanted to tell the world about your subject. Then add your link at the end of the article.

However, do not be carried away and try to put everything you know into one article. Three points is plenty, and one is enough if you have a lot to say about it. Too much information is confusing for the reader. It is very important to leave them wanting more.

Meanwhile, your hidden reason for writing the article will be in the back of your mind. This may be branding (building awareness of you as an authority on the subject, e.g. through a blog), lead generation (sending readers to a squeeze page), or, if the article is very closely related to your product, direct selling where your resource box links to a sales page.

So before you go ahead and submit your article, take a moment to think about whether it serves its dual purpose in the best possible way. Does it give readers what they want, but still leave them wanting more? And does it link to the most effective kind of page on your site – squeeze page, sales letter or a blog?
