Search Engine Traffic Is Influenced By Website Development

The main source of website traffic are the search engines. Names such as Google, MSN and Yahoo are just a few.
Website Design,
Sites which are designed, or “optimised” to rank well in the search engines will obviously attract more visitors as these sites will be placed higher in the search results for the keywords searched.

The main search engines use crawlers or robots to index websites which are then listed on the search results.

For a Web Site to gain visitors and perform at its upmost, it is most important that you concentrate on its design in minute detail.
Search Engine Traffic,
The Navigation Must be Simple and Clear.
Navigation is the menu which is usually found along the top or in the sidebar. Why make it complated? Concentrate on ease of operation and make it simple for visitors to navigate to other pages of the site.

The rule of thumb in this regard, is that your visitors should be able to access the main description of the product or service being sold without having to click on more than 3 links or “levels” For example: Home Page-Products-Order products.

A set up such as this is also regarded as being of benefit Search Engine Optimization.
I would recommend against having complicated drop down menus with multi tiers or flash based components…..What we know as the KISS Principal….I should not have to explain those initials further!

Provide Good “Fodder” for the Search Engines
It’s a waste of time money and effort if your site gets no visitors.

To help get your site listed inthe search engines I would recommend against the use of frames within it as frames have been described as responsible for confusing the search engine robots.
When setting up a website, keep in mind that the more time a visitor spends on it, the more chance they have of taking up whatever offer you may be presenting.

Most websites are there for a purpose…whether it be to provide information or sell products. The site that is the flashiest may not be the one that converts visitors into buyers.

Ease of navigation through the site is covered on another page and is of primary importance.
When describing good navigation it means that it is easy for visitors to find their way around your website.

Design the site with the visitor in mind.
If a site has a poor navigation set up, a visitor enters the site, and although they wish to find more information and maybe ultimately make some sort of purchase,

A simple navigation bar down the side is usually the first place we look when entering a site…Why make it more difficult than that?

That is what you should aim to do on business sites. There is no doubt that your increased profits will show the wisdom of this.
It is of Course Essential to Get traffic To Your Website
When it comes to making a profit from a Website the primary rule that must be obeyed is that the site must be able to generate a steady stream of traffic.

No traffic = no money…..simple as that.

Lack of web traffic has been the demise of thousands of online businesses. It is extremely unlikely that a web business can become successful without capital input, however you can get started without throwing huge lumps of cash at it.
Sure, the big players of business do use large capital to drive a massive volume of traffic to their sites, but don’t be discouraged. as there are a number of ways to promote and bring traffic to your website without it costing a fortune.
These methods could vastly improve your website traffic statistics.

Good Quality links pointing to your website are important

Don’t Forget The Banner Stands!

Tradeshow displays
Designing Trade show displays can be a tricky business. Often its big display and big graphics. But Banner Stands, Literature racks, and table throws and other accessories are usually put into the “what ever” category. These specific items can give you more bang for your marketing buck than perhaps any big ticket item in your trade show display.

Retractable Banners
Banner Stands can efficiently be used to focus the attendees attention on “The Message.” The most common types of banner stands are: retractable, tension, and pole mounted which prove to be effective depending on your own personal tastes and opinions as to what will work best for your audience. Banner Stands can actually help funnel the foot traffic in directions you want the customers to walk once inside your booth if properly placed. Depending on the size of your trade show display and orientation of set up it is important that the correct size banner stand is used in terms of it’s size and it’s foot print. By using double sided banner stands where appropriate you can also double your marketing space while using the same amount of foot print. Take advantage of each square inch of usable marketing space available to you.

Podiums and counters can be much more effective if just a bit more consideration is given to them. You can attract attention to your booth and give it a customized look by adding back lighting to your counters and podiums. Light is always an element which draws in the human eye. Why not take advantage of the use of light integrated into your actual hardware. By using transparent media to print on and the easy use of bar lights or bulbs the podium or counter can come alive and draw attention not only to the your trade show display as attendees walk down the aisles but can highlight your speaker during a greeting or presentation. The lighting can also be effective in focusing traffic to that part of the booth where it best serves your needs especially when it comes to the greeters position in your Trade show displays.

Table throws are historically often forgotten. All too often exhibitors regard a table to be nothing more that something to be used with a table cloth. Nothing can be further from the truth when you think of Trade show displays. A table throw can make for a finished and polished look which will add to what ever sits on that table. There is a reason why diamonds are displayed against a plush or attractive backgrounds. Think of the table throw as a way of featuring your company logo, a message, and a color scheme to maximize your ten by ten space. If the table throw occupies space you can again utilize that space to market your product or service.

Platinum Literature Stands
Literature racks are usually thought of in an off handed manner. This is a big mistake, bigger than most might imagine. Your literature might be the lasting impression of your company that an attendee walks away with. Diamond Literature Stands must be used in an effective manner. Place them where a sales person is near and can approach the prospective client. Normally it is also wise to place your stands deep in the trade show display. Remember to have the stand fit the image of your company or the literature which rests on it. Does the stand enhance the look of the literature?

Something else to consider as the last point is are you planning to use the “simple take away” or “the capture” method. The capture method consists of featuring the type of literature a person can have and having a sales person there to give it to them personally. A nice method of getting to “Press some flesh”, ask for that business card, or make a quick introduction.

You might have sweat creating large top of the line Trade show displays but did you remember to “sweat the small stuff”?

Good luck!!
