Let’s start with the first task, getting search engines to index your pages.
Well, the primary thing you need to do is register your URL.
This can be done at any one of thousands of domain registrars like GoDaddy.Com or
this is done by your web host when you open up a new web account.
As a tip, it’s best to register your name in advance with a registrar like Register.Com and then create
a site account, but if you are new to the web business and don’t want to learn the intricacies of

looking for a little while.
In fact, if you do nothing. It could take weeks before MSN come visiting. And, it may be many
months before they even index a fraction of the pages.
So how do I speed up the process?
One step is to add your pages manually to the search engines. For Google, you register athttp://www.google.com/addurl/, for MSN, you can go to http://search.live.com/docs/submit.aspx and for Yahoo, their is a link to add to their directory but not directly to their search results. Yahoo’s directory approach is too complicated and now a days most people think that the value of the directory approach is less effective than it used to be, so the short answer is add your site to Google and MSN and Yahoo will pick up on it.
Another step is to get your web site listed on other sites. That way when the spider sees your links, it will add the site to their list of sites to be indexed. The more external links into your sites the search robots see, the faster they will come looking.
An excellent method of accelerating the process is to create a Google AdWords account to put google
adds on your site. You can find the adwords instructions at
https://www.google.com/adsense/login/en_US/
If the ad robot (a different program than the Google Bot) is available, it will look at your site immediately. If not, you can generally expect that it will come by within a couple of hours.
Now this doesn’t mean that the Google bot will be by right away to index, but my experience is that it will start adding much faster than if you simply add your site through the submit pages.
